South Anchorage Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area at W Klatt Rd in Anchorage, Alaska, within South Anchorage Sports Park.
It is one of nine areas the Municipality of Anchorage sets aside for off-leash dog activity.
The site includes a separate enclosed area for small dogs, and is open 6AM to 11PM seven days a week.
Anchorage requires dogs using its off-leash areas to be legally licensed and to hold a current rabies vaccination.

Planning Your Visit to South Anchorage Dog Park
Alaska daylight shapes a visit here more than the posted hours do. In midsummer the 11PM close is usable in full daylight. In midwinter the practical window is a few hours around midday.
Snow clearance determines how much of the enclosure is usable between November and April.
Paw protection is worth considering in deep cold, and moose are a genuine consideration in Anchorage green space, so keep dogs close on the approach.
