Overview
Rumsey Park Dog Park is a Town of Payson facility inside Rumsey Park, an 82 acre site that is the largest municipal park in Payson, Arizona.
The dog park is fully fenced with separate sections for big and small dogs, obstacles to work through and a spacious open field.
There is shaded seating for owners and the site is wheelchair accessible.
The wider park is a full recreation hub, with ballfields, soccer fields, pickleball and tennis courts, a skate park, playgrounds and picnic areas. The Payson Public Library is also within the park.

Planning Your Visit to Rumsey Park Dog Park
Hours run 6AM to 10:30PM, which is generous and covers both ends of the day.
Payson sits at around 5,000 feet beneath the Mogollon Rim, high enough that summers are markedly cooler than the Phoenix valley below. That makes this a genuine summer escape for dogs as well as people, and the park is busier with visitors in July and August as a result.
Winter brings occasional snow at this elevation, which is worth knowing if you are driving up from the desert.
