Overview
Yellen Dog Park is part of Sam Yellen Park at 5100 East Avenue S in Palmdale, California, a 24.5 acre city site that opened in 2017 and was expanded in 2025.
It is the only dog park the City of Palmdale operates.
The dog area is lit for evening use and there are covered picnic tables inside each enclosure, so owners get shade in a climate where that matters for much of the year.
The wider park includes seven futsal courts, an adventure playground with a zipline, a multipurpose field, fitness stations, lit pedestrian paths and two car parks.

Planning Your Visit to Yellen Dog Park
Hours run from 6AM to 10PM daily, and because the dog area is lit, the later end of that window is usable rather than nominal.
That matters in the Antelope Valley, where summer afternoons are hot enough to make ground surfaces uncomfortable underfoot. Early morning and after dark are the practical windows from June through September.
With two car parks and a community room on site, the park absorbs busy periods better than most, though futsal fixtures can still fill the closer lot.
