Overview
Sherwood Dog Park sits just east of Sherwood Park on Scott Street in Paso Robles, California, next to the Senior Center.
The park covers 1.25 acres with perimeter fencing and cross fencing that separates large and small dogs. Ground cover is recycled wood chips.
It is unusually well equipped for a volunteer run site: a dunking pool for hot days, tennis balls and rackets, dog bags, drinking water, park benches, picnic tables, a shade structure and mature trees. Entrances and walkways are ADA accessible.
The park opened in April 2012 on the site of Sherwood Field, the first airport in Paso Robles, and carries an aviation theme in tribute.

Planning Your Visit to Sherwood Dog Park
The park is maintained by volunteers and funded entirely by donations rather than by the city.
Visitors are asked to put one dollar per visit in the collection box at the entrance, and an optional annual membership is available. Neither is a barrier to entry, but the park depends on people paying it.
The dunking pool is the feature to plan around. Paso Robles summers regularly pass 100 degrees, and a dog that swims will need drying before the drive home.
