Brotherhood & Alemany Dog Play Area

History of Brotherhood & Alemany Dog Play Area

Brotherhood & Alemany Dog Play Area was established as part of San Francisco's broader initiative to expand recreational facilities for the city's growing dog-owning population.

Located in a residential neighborhood, the park was developed to provide a dedicated off-leash space where dogs could exercise and socialize in a safe, controlled environment.

The site's generous size reflects the city's commitment to urban green space management and community wellness.

As San Francisco's dog parks have evolved to meet demand, Brotherhood & Alemany has maintained its role as a significant amenity within the neighborhood, serving as a gathering place for local pet owners and contributing to the area's quality of life.

The park continues to be maintained and managed through San Francisco Parks and Recreation, adapting to serve the ongoing needs of the community.

Dog Park Rules in Brotherhood & Alemany Dog Play Area

To keep the dog park safe and enjoyable for everyone, the city has established clear rules that all visitors must follow. These regulations protect your dog's health and guarantee peaceful coexistence with other pet owners.

Before entering, you'll need to meet several requirements:

• You're responsible for controlling your dog at all times during visits.
• Dogs must wear harnesses or collars; prong, choke, or spike collars are prohibited.
• You must leash your dog when entering and exiting the fenced area.
• You can bring up to three dogs per person, or up to eight if you're a professional dog walker.
