1. Ensure your dog has a valid license and a current rabies vaccination tag before entering the off-leash area.
2. Keep your dog on a leash until you pass through the gate into the designated area.
3. Maintain voice control and keep your dog within sight at all times.
4. Clean up after your dog immediately and dispose of waste in the appropriate receptacles.

Dogs under four months old aren't permitted, and sick or aggressive dogs must remain at home. If your dog becomes unruly, please leash them immediately and exit the area.

It's also important to supervise children closely during your visit. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., so plan accordingly for your dog's playtime and socialization. Note that Coyote Hills Regional Park spans 1,266 acres of marshland and grasslands adjacent to this facility, offering expanded recreational opportunities for visitors seeking additional outdoor activities.

What to Expect at Muwékma Dog Park

When you arrive at Muwékma Dog Park in Sunnyvale, you'll find a fenced facility with separate areas for small dogs (under 25 lbs) and large dogs (25 lbs+), with convenient parking right outside the big dog area.

The park features packed dirt terrain throughout, which Carrie Mtn describes as solid ground where she's "been to much worse," though Dolores Ferguson suggests the big dog area could benefit from artificial grass and expansion.

The atmosphere tends to be calm and welcoming. Brittany B notes the presence of "fairly calm and very friendly dogs," and you may find yourself meeting other dog owners and their pets as word spreads.

Carrie Mtn experienced this firsthand, explaining: "At first we were the only dog there—then others who were walking around the park came in to play too when they saw us. Met a nice lady and her pup Sammy!"

Space for activity is ample, with enough room to throw a ball and let your dog burn off energy. However, be prepared for limited shade, especially during hot summer months.

Tina Luong cautions that "there's not enough shade to enjoy the park in hot summer days," and water access requires walking approximately 1000 feet outside the park area to reach the fountain.
