Lewes Released Dog Park was established in response to the increasing demand among Lewes residents for a dedicated, secure off-leash facility where dogs could exercise and socialize in a controlled environment.

Operating as a non-profit, members-only organization, the park was developed within the grounds of Great Marsh Park, utilizing the existing natural landscape to create a thorough dog recreation space.

The facility features distinct, fenced areas to accommodate dogs of varying sizes and temperaments, reflecting a thoughtful approach to canine socialization and safety.

Since its inception, Lewes Released has remained committed to providing a secluded, well-managed environment for member dogs across its 4.5 acres, with the main play area spanning approximately three acres.

The park's structure as a non-profit membership-based operation has allowed it to stay focused on serving the community and addressing the welfare and exercise needs of dogs in the greater Lewes area.

Dog Park Rules in Lewes Unleashed Dog Park Private Park

To ensure your dog's safety and enhance everyone's experience at the park, please adhere to the following guidelines during your visit. These rules foster a welcoming atmosphere for all members and their dogs.

1. Your dog must be friendly, social, and confident. Aggressive or bullying dogs aren't permitted off-leash and must be removed immediately.
2. Upon entering off-leash areas, please remove your dog's leash promptly to prevent stress caused by the presence of both leashed and free-running dogs.
3. You're responsible for cleaning up after your dog. Please utilize the 16 waste stations equipped with bag dispensers located throughout the park.

As a member, you're expected to supervise your dog's interactions and intervene if play becomes rough or inappropriate. Dogs are allowed on the beach only before 8 am and after 6:30 pm from May 1st to September 30th when not at the off-leash dog park.

Maintain courteous behavior toward other members and manage any disputes respectfully.

Please remember that you assume all liability for any injuries your dog may cause. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in suspension or revocation of your membership.
