What to Expect at Tomahawk Dog Park

Expect space and a local crowd rather than a busy destination park. Alexis Hendrickson sums it up in six words: "Big space, well maintained, friendly crowd."

janine pannell describes the character of it: "My dog loves it here-it is more of a neighborhood place I think the locals bring water. But I have never seen many dogs here."

Regulars top up what the park does not supply. Brandon Kirk notes, "they have a lot of space to run around, and some people even leave bowls of water for the dogs which is nice," while adding that not everyone cleans up after themselves.

Two limitations come up. T Weber found seating short, writing, "there is no place to sit just one picnic table out in the sun." And because there is no separate small dog side, Taylor Ford adapts: "They are not socialized well though so when there is a big dog here we might go somewhere else."

Bring water and a chair, and have a fallback in mind if the mix of dogs does not suit yours.
