Overview
Small Paws Country Getaway is a private facility at 4624 NE 12th St in Newton, Kansas, which includes an off-leash area known as The Woof Park. It is a business rather than a public municipal park, and it is open 8AM to 6PM.
The setting is rural, with grass and dirt underfoot and separate space for smaller and larger dogs. Boarding is offered alongside the park.
Because this is a private operation, access and services can change. One reviewer reports a shift toward small animals only.
Call ahead on +1 316-288-1942 before travelling, particularly if you are coming for boarding rather than the park.
Hours, amenities and rating come from this park’s Google listing, and are checked against what visitors report in their own reviews. Listing last updated 19 Sep 2026. We record what those sources say; we do not inspect parks in person.

What to Expect at Small Paws Country Getaway
The owners come up in nearly every review. D S writes, "Love this place, the owners are amazing. Lots of room for dogs to run and play and if dogs need more attention they bring the dog in on specific needs of them dog."
Sandi Bates covers both sides of the business: "Love the dog park! Clean and awesome atmosphere. Also good rate and space for boarding. Nice people easy to work with."
Erren Wright used it during a move: "I desperately needed a place for my pups to stay while we moved and they made the accommodations for 2 weeks. My babies where well taken care of and happy with the country setting to run and play."
Not every account is positive. L Hartke reports that "They have moved to doing small animals only" and was unhappy with the boarding accommodation on offer. That is another reason to confirm current services by phone before you set out.
