Planning Your Visit to Van Saun Dog Park
Stone dust is a deliberate choice for a park under this much pressure. It drains fast, stays level and does not turn to mud, though it is harder underfoot than turf and gets dusty in a dry spell.
Because Van Saun is a major destination park with a zoo, a carousel and playgrounds, parking fills quickly at weekends and through school holidays. Use the Continental Avenue entrance, which puts you closest to the dog run.
Weekday mornings are much quieter.
