Overview

East County Park covers 150 acres in the northeast corner of Somerset County, in Warren Township, New Jersey, and is run as a partnership between Somerset County and the township.

This listing covers the wider reserve and its playing fields. The off-leash area has its own page here, East County Park Dog Park, with the detail on the fenced corrals and gates.

The park holds a synthetic turf multi use field, synthetic and natural turf soccer fields, and an eight foot wide multi use nature trail of stone running half a mile in a loop around a pond with views over the meadows.

The site is ADA accessible, with a reservable picnic area and a portable restroom in the car park.

Planning Your Visit to East County Park

The trail is the reason to combine a visit rather than treat the dog park as a standalone stop. Half a mile of wide stone path around a pond gives a leashed walk with a proper surface, which matters after rain.

Dogs must be leashed everywhere outside the fenced off-leash corrals.

The park has two addresses in circulation, 101 Old Stirling Rd and 40 Reinman Rd, because the fields and the reserve are entered from different sides. Check which facility you are heading for before setting off.

Field reservations go through Warren Recreation on 908-753-8000. The Somerset County Park Commission can be reached on 908-722-1200 for the park itself.

The synthetic turf means the fields stay playable through a wet New Jersey spring, so the site is busier in poor weather than a grass complex would be.
