What to Expect at Wapak Dog Park

Expect a well equipped, well kept park with very little shelter from the sun. Tj Todd gives the clearest summary: "Big park with dog/people water fountains, large and small dog sides, and lots of parking. Seems to be well taken care of. Bags and trash cans are supplied for clean up. Biggest drawback is the lack of trees for shade in the summer."

Cloe Nolen confirms both halves of that: "A lot cleaner than most dog parks I have went to and haven't had any issues with overly aggressive dogs hanging out there. My only complaint is they just planted trees so currently there is no shade."

Matthew C notes the park "appears to be undergoing improvements," and SimonTek enjoyed an unexpected feature of the industrial setting: "I enjoyed watching a train pass by actually."

Two things to check on arrival. Kathleen Thompson found "the fencing that separates the large and small dog enclosures has been bent so that a large dog could get to a small dog," and Jesse Miller reported "dug up holes around the benches" plus a rules sign whose lettering has worn away. Walk the fence line before letting a small dog off the lead.
