Overview

Settlers Cabin Dog Park is an off-leash area within Settlers Cabin Park, a 1,610 acre Allegheny County park west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The park spans Collier, North Fayette and Robinson townships, and the dog park is reached near the Arrowhead Shelter.

The enclosure gives dogs real room to run, with water on site and a covered shelter of benches and picnic tables at the far end.

That covered shelter matters more than it sounds. Western Pennsylvania weather turns quickly, and having somewhere dry to stand changes how long a visit can last.

Planning Your Visit to Settlers Cabin Dog Park

The adjacent Waterfall Trail makes an easy addition once a dog has burned off energy, and the wider park has around 22 miles of walking and hiking trails.

Settlers Cabin also has a wave pool with a diving platform, playgrounds, tennis courts and basketball courts, so the site absorbs a long visit.

Because the park is large and the dog area is set back from the main entrances, allow time to find it on a first visit.

Allegheny County Parks can confirm current hours and any seasonal closures.
