Overview

The borough knows this park as Paws Park. It sits at the western end of the South Williamsport Community Park Complex, 545 E Central Ave in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, just west of the old pool.

It was created by Friends of Paws Park, a group of local residents who raised the money for it, and it is maintained entirely by volunteers who continue to fundraise for it.

There are two fully fenced sections, one for large dogs and one for small, with a seasonal water source on each side.

The wider complex has tennis courts, baseball, softball and soccer fields, pavilions, two play areas for children and a walking path marked for a full mile.

Hours, amenities and rating come from this park’s Google listing, and are checked against what visitors report in their own reviews. Listing last updated 19 Sep 2026. We record what those sources say; we do not inspect parks in person.

What to Expect at Paws Park

Mary Lieber found it an easy stop off US 15: "Clean, well kept dog park. Quite grassy, bags, water and toys were available, plus several benches for doggie parents. There is a fenced area for large and small dogs."

Tim Miller gives the size split and a local tip: "there are actually two large fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small (under 30 lbs.) dogs. There is a Facebook page for the park, we made a post there and within 30 minutes there were 4 dogs there for playtime."

The water is seasonal and has been out during construction. John Brewer warned that "the faucets are not working right now, so bring your own water," so it is worth carrying some regardless.

Kayla Richardson rates it the pick of the area: "A few trees, some benches, fresh water supply. Always lots of toys left around. Separate small and large dog areas. Definitely our preferred dog park in Williamsport."

Tara Pasquarello notes the trade off after rain: "The park is well manicured and the scenery is gorgeous. The dog park section is a bit muddy so don't wear your Jordan's."

Michael Stugart mentions exercise equipment added along the path, so the walk round the complex is worth doing either side of off-leash time.
