Planning Your Visit to Ghent Dog Park

The park describes itself as a community centre without the building, and that is a fair description of how it works. Hundreds of people pass through each week and the regulars know each other.

That makes it a good park for a sociable dog and a harder one for a dog that finds crowds difficult.

At 0.61 acres it is compact, suited to a run and a sniff rather than sustained hard exercise.

Its position in central Ghent makes it walkable from much of the neighbourhood, which is the point.

The Ghent Dog Park Association can be reached on 757-609-0437.
