Overview

Shiloh Road Bark Park is at 1660 Shiloh Rd in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, just off County Road U near the industrial park, and is sponsored by the Door County Humane Society.

It is a large fenced site divided into two sizeable areas connected by an access door, so an owner with two dogs can move between them.

One side has a substantial hill, which is the feature regular visitors mention most.

The City of Sturgeon Bay Parks Department and seven volunteers built an open shelter between the two enclosures, giving owners shade and cover while keeping both sides in view. It cost between $10,000 and $15,000.

Hours, amenities and rating come from this park’s Google listing, and are checked against what visitors report in their own reviews. Listing last updated 19 Sep 2026. We record what those sources say; we do not inspect parks in person.

What to Expect at Shiloh Road Bark Park

Ruth Walden-Turek explains how the two sides actually work: "There are 2 sides (no size restrictions on use of sides). Each side is very large so it accommodates a lot of dogs. The side on the right (looking at the park from the parking lot) includes a hill, so if your dog like to play fetch, it's a great place to get a lot of exercise."

Anthony O'Hern uses the split for introductions: "Typically everyone is on one side, so you can go in the other to see how their dogs interact on opposite sides of the fence before deciding if it's safe to join them."

Reports on water conflict, so bring your own. Melanie Coate found "no water, so be sure to bring your own. No public bathroom, just a port a john," while William Nick found "water and bowls supplied, doggie waste bags and some toys." Bowls are there either way.

Sandie Yi notes it "is accessible for power chair users," which is unusual for a rural site this size.

Barb Schaefer used it as a stop before heading further into Door County: "the large hill was perfect for letting off steam."

Tennis balls and toys tend to accumulate on site, left by regulars.
