Dog Park Rules in Lander Dog Park

To ensure the dog park is safe and enjoyable for everyone, please adhere to the following guidelines that protect both your dog and other visitors. These rules help guarantee that all dogs can play safely and that the park remains a welcoming community space.

Essential requirements include:

• Keep your dog leashed when entering and exiting the park; only release your dog inside the fenced area using the double-gated entry system to prevent escapes.
• Clean up after your dog immediately and fill any holes your dog digs to prevent injuries to others.
• Ensure your dog is properly licensed, fully vaccinated, and healthy before visiting; aggressive, sick, or unspayed dogs aren't permitted.

You must supervise your dog at all times and maintain verbal control. Never leave your dog unsupervised. One handler is permitted per dog(s) in the park, with a limit of 2 dogs per handler enforced to maintain manageable supervision levels.

Please remove all personal items like toys and bowls after use. Report any unsafe conditions to local animal control immediately.

When you arrive at Lander Dog Park, you'll find yourself in a spacious, well-maintained open area tucked behind the local baseball field. The park is remarkably large, with plenty of grass and generous shade coverage—ideal for dogs who need relief from the sun during playtime.

Matthew Fuller describes it as an open fenced area behind a baseball field with excellent use of space, and the fencing is secure enough to give you confidence that your dog can run freely without risk of escape.

The atmosphere tends to be relaxed and community-oriented. A recent visitor notes that there's usually someone present, so your dog has others to play with. The big area includes benches for seating, making it easy to settle in and supervise while your dog socializes.

The grass is regularly maintained; Patrick Shea observed that the grass is well kept, so there’s no fear of muddy or dusty pups when you leave.

The park maintains a clean environment overall. Patrick Shea reported finding no waste during his two visits in a week, and Lawrence Long praised it as very large and well maintained, calling it a great resource for the community.

Come prepared with water for your dog, as there's no water fountain on-site. Bring your own poop bags as well, though some visitors occasionally leave grocery bags behind—don't count on this.

Benches provide convenient seating while you watch your dog enjoy the open space to run, sniff, and play.
